We offer vinyl cutting used for vinyl lettering for your shows, creating stencils for text or for screen printing, or designing shapes to throw up anywhere.
What is required is an Adobe Illustrator file. Any text needs to be Outlined, any overlapping shapes need to be merged, and any strokes should be converted to
outlines.
We carry Black and white matte vinyl, both come in 15" rolls with a cutting area of 13". The Black also comes in a 24" roll with a cutting area of 22". All designs will be cut in 4' sections or less.
Pricing is $0.80/ft on the 15" roll, and $1.25/ft on the 24" roll.
We have 4 flatbed scanners for scanning artwork and photographic film, as well as one advanced film scanner.
3 of the 4 scanners are Epson V850s with a scanning bed of 9"x12". These also come with trays for scanning film as well.
The fourth scanner is an Epson 11000XL with a scanning bed of 12"x17", also with trays for scanning film.
Anything larger would need to find a larger scanner or be photographed. Alternatively, if the piece is not too big, all four corners could be scanned and then stitched together using Photoshop, as seen in the neighboring video.
The advanced film scanner is an Imacon 848 with capabilities of scanning film formats such as 35mm, 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, and 4x5. This scanner is RESTRICTED to students who are in the Photo BFA, or have been personally trained by a faculty member.
We offer both glossy and matte vinyl sticker paper. We also offer an optional “Kiss-Cut” for low run orders.
Due to the nature of the process, a max of 8 pages per appointment is allowed for Kiss-Cut orders.
If you would like Kiss-Cut click the button to download the Illustrator template. One artboard per file. Add your artwork to the “Design” layer and add your cut lines to the “Cut” layer.
Cut lines and bleed are required to be added by you. Additionally prep your file with the following steps:
- Convert any fonts to Outlines.
- Embed any raster images or include a folder of them when you submit your file.
You will then load the “.ai” (illustrator) file to the Print Lab’s print station as normal.
Training and assistance on this process are contingent on TA availability and knowledge base.
We offer 3D Printing Prototyping with ABS or PLA Materials.
Our scaled sizes could be either 6x6x6 or 9x11x13. Multiple resolutions.
STL and OBJ files accepted.
Pricing is about $0.20 per gram of material used.
